Why the name
"Well Adjusted"?

My name is Dr. Jay Kocher and I am the founder and owner of Well Adjusted Chiropractic & Wellness in Saline, Michigan. The name "Well Adjusted" was chosen because it reflects the standard of care I believe every patient deserves. To me, being "well adjusted" is about more than receiving a chiropractic adjustment—it's about feeling heard, valued, and genuinely cared for from the moment you walk through our doors until the moment you leave.

Throughout my 15 years as a chiropractor, I have had the privilege of delivering over 100,000 chiropractic adjustments, and not once have I allowed the quality of care to be compromised. I have always believed that every patient deserves my full attention, my best clinical judgment, and an adjustment tailored specifically to their needs.

Time and time again, I've met many people who shared that with other chiropractors, they felt rushed through appointments or left feeling like they never received the care they truly needed. Those experiences reinforced my commitment to creating a practice that is intentionally different.

At Well Adjusted, my mission is to provide exceptional, personalized care to every individual who entrusts me with their health. I take the time to listen, work to understand the root cause of the problem, and deliver the highest quality chiropractic adjustment possible. My goal is that every patient leaves our office feeling well cared for, well treated, and knowing they received the very best care I could provide—because everyone deserves to be well adjusted!

At our chiropractic and wellness clinic, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of healthcare through natural and personalized, patient-centered treatment options consisting of full spine Chiropractic Care and Cupping. We have specialization in Upper Cervical adjustments, which are a precise, gentle form of chiropractic care focused on the top two bones in the neck—the atlas (C1) and axis (C2)—which play a critical role in supporting the head, protecting the brainstem, and allowing proper communication between the brain and body. By restoring proper motion and alignment in the upper cervical spine, this technique may help reduce tension, improve posture, support balance, and promote more efficient nervous system function, making it a focused and effective approach for patients seeking gentle, precise chiropractic care.

We utilize holistic, evidence-based protocols to ensure every individual receives safe, effective, and results-driven care tailored to their unique needs. Our approach is rooted in caring and compassionate care by putting patients first—taking the time to listen, educate, and support you throughout your health journey. Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, recovering from an injury, or striving to optimize your overall wellness lifestyle, we are here to help you move better, feel better and live better!

Traditional Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper alignment and movement within the spine and joints. Through precise, gentle adjustments, This helps reduce pain, improve mobility, and support your body’s natural ability to heal. We utilize evidence-based techniques consisting of manual "hands-on" adjusting. Activator and Arthrostim® adjusting tools allow for a gentler and targeted approach. Thomson drop-table protocols provide a safe and effective approach. Chiropractic is one of the leading healthcare options that is evidence-based, and allows for an effective, drug-free, and non-invasive approach to many health concerns. Benefits of routine chiropractic care are great for:  acute or chronic back and neck pain, general arthritis and joint pain, chronic injuries, discomfort and stiffness, headaches, scoliosis and postural issues, sleep quality and immune system function, stress and tension, sciatica, mobility or functional capacity limitations, and arm and leg pain.

Instrument Assisted Adjustments

A gentle, low-force chiropractic technique utilizing specialized handheld instruments such as the Activator and ArthroStim® delivers precise, targeted adjustments without the need for traditional joint manipulation or “popping.” These instruments use controlled, rapid impulses to restore proper joint motion, reduce nerve irritation, and support optimal function of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. This approach is especially beneficial for patients who prefer a more comfortable, gentle treatment, including children, older adults, individuals with acute pain, or those with heightened sensitivity. By allowing for accurate, reproducible adjustments, instrument-assisted techniques help improve mobility, decrease discomfort, and promote the body’s natural healing processes in a safe and effective manner.

What-Is-Cupping-Therapy.png.webp
Cupping & Muscle Scraping Therapies

Cupping therapy is a gentle soft tissue treatment that uses specialized cups to create light suction on the skin. This negative pressure helps lift and decompress the underlying tissues, encouraging healthy circulation, reducing muscle tension, and improving mobility. Unlike massage, which applies pressure downward into the muscles, cupping gently lifts the tissues to help release fascial restrictions, promote relaxation, and support the body's natural healing process. Many patients find it especially beneficial for relieving tight, overworked muscles and improving recovery after physical activity. Cupping therapy may help: -Relieve muscle tension and stiffness -Improve circulation and tissue mobility -Increase flexibility and range of motion -Reduce soreness after exercise or physical activity -Release fascial restrictions -Promote relaxation and stress relief -Support the body's natural healing process This treatment is commonly used for neck pain, back pain, shoulder tightness, hip discomfort, muscle soreness, headaches related to muscle tension, and sports or overuse injuries. What to expect: During your session, cups are placed on targeted areas for several minutes. You may feel a gentle pulling or stretching sensation, which most patients find comfortable and relaxing. Temporary circular marks or discoloration can occur after treatment due to increased blood flow to the area. These marks are not bruises, are typically painless, and usually fade within several days. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing chronic muscle tension, or looking to improve mobility and overall wellness, cupping therapy is a safe, effective treatment that can help you move better and feel your best. Muscle scraping, also known as Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), is a specialized soft tissue treatment that uses stainless steel instruments to gently glide over the skin. This technique helps identify and treat areas of muscle tightness, scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and chronic inflammation that may be contributing to pain or limited movement. By promoting healthy blood flow and stimulating the body's natural healing response, muscle scraping can help: -Reduce muscle tension and stiffness -Improve mobility and range of motion -Break down scar tissue and adhesions -Speed recovery from injuries and overuse -Decrease pain and improve overall function This treatment is commonly used for neck and back pain, shoulder injuries, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, IT band syndrome, and other muscle and soft tissue conditions. What to Expect: Your provider will use specially designed instruments to gently glide over the affected area. You may experience a mild scraping sensation, and some temporary redness or light bruising can occur, which is a normal response and typically resolves within a few days. Most patients report feeling looser, moving better, and experiencing less discomfort following treatment.

Chiropractic and pregnancy.png
Pregnancy Care

Chiropractic care during pregnancy offers a safe, gentle, and effective way to support a mother’s changing body while promoting overall comfort and wellness. As the body adapts to accommodate a growing baby, many women experience low back pain, pelvic discomfort, sciatica, and postural strain; chiropractic adjustments help restore proper joint alignment, reduce nerve irritation, and improve mobility. By optimizing pelvic balance, care may also create a more favorable environment for fetal positioning, which can contribute to a smoother pregnancy and potentially easier labor and delivery. Additionally, regular chiropractic care can help decrease muscle tension, improve sleep quality, and support the body’s natural ability to adapt to the physical demands of pregnancy—all while providing a drug-free approach to pain relief.

After trying so many things for my migraines with little relief, finding Dr. Jay was a game changer. He really listened and made me feel comfortable right away. The adjustments are gentle but super effective, and I started noticing fewer migraines after just a few visits.

Now my headaches are way less frequent and not nearly as intense. I’m so grateful I found Dr. Jay! It’s made a huge difference in my day to day life.

I’ve seen a lot of chiropractors over the years, but I’ve never experienced the kind of relief I get with Dr. Jay. From the first visit, it was clear he’s really in tune with what he’s doing and understands the body on a deeper level.

His adjustments feel intentional and spot-on every time, and I finally get that real release I’ve been searching for. I leave each appointment feeling better, looser, and more balanced. If you’ve been to other chiropractors and haven’t gotten results, Dr. Jay is the one to see.
